The light is out and I’m shutting down.
I’ve been discarded, yet never found.
I’m old, not ill or unsocialized.
Yet, you are my last hope.
So, please look into my eyes.
My life is NOT out, I’m STILL alive.
Your very existence, it brings me alive.
I’m relegated, to the lost, but not to the found.
PLEASE, will you save me for my life abounds!
Stop the injustice now.

My name is Teddy and I’m an approximately 12 year old male Chow Chow. I am already neutered. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since March 5, 2014. You can visit me at my temporary home at C146. My former family who owned me for more than 5 years had to give me up because they couldn’t afford the care I need.

My name is Robin and I write the Chows in Need (CIN) blog. Writing this blog and sharing with you helps me advocate for Chows, because I love this breed of amazing intelligence, independence and pride. Your energy and passion keep CIN alive, so please keep sharing and continuing our momentum.
Do you want to help? If so, I embrace your compassion and implore you to take action. There are many ways to help such as donations, pulling from shelters, transporting dogs to new homes, and fostering or adopting a Chow. Our Facebook page, Chows in Need, is updated continually with Chows in dire need of rescue, foster homes, adoption and transport.
I am the proud Mom of (5) Chowdren: four 11-year-old-siblings; and Doodles. Doodles, a black Chow, as if life could get any worst, managed to exist in a Southern California county shelter for 6 months when ResQPet fought for her last 4 hours of life and blessed me with her existence. The entire event is almost unheard of because few Chows pass shelter tests and few Chows survive for more than 10 days in a shelter. It’s important to understand the breed and recognize that Chows are not an interim dog fancy; they are a commitment for life. Consider it a fabulous marriage, but recognize you are making a commitment for 13-15 years of your life, regardless of impeding circumstances.
Chows in Need is a community
Responsible for protecting & defending
This majestic breed, the Chow Chow
If each one of us shared a Chow in Need
Than that Chow would be seen by 4,950 more people
Please share. Their lives depend on it.
