Dear Friends,
Today I had the privilege of going along with several of my fellow United Hope for Animals and Baldwin Park Animal Care Center volunteers to the Carson Animal Care Center where I was able to assist their fantastic volunteers to produce their first networking list comprised of 52 marvelous dogs and 10 cats who urgently need our help in finding homes.
The Carson Animal Care Center, like its sister shelters in Downey and Baldwin Park is a high intake shelter serving an economically depressed service area. What impressed me was not only how many awesome pets were available for adoption, and how clean the facilities were, but the incredibly warm welcome we received from Carson’s hard working staff. I always thought I volunteered at the most gracious animal care center in the county system and was pleasantly surprised to discover we have competition. Gil Moreno and his staff could not have been more helpful or thoughtful in insuring that everything went smoothly.
We are extremely pleased to see that Carson has established its own Facebook and YouTube pages to help network its pets. We are further encouraged to hear that Gil Moreno and his staff have made it clear that they are committed to making this work – and are making an effort to become one of the most rescue friendly shelters in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. We will be regularly producing networking lists out of Carson and look forward to a long and successful partnership with our new friends!

Kindest regards,
