Notes: Honey is a feral dog. We are not sure of her exact age, whether seven, ten or older. She lives on a fenced property and prefers sleeping outside except when there is weather, in which case she comes into the house through the doggy door and waits for the storm to pass. Honey loves dogs and lives with at least 14 other dogs who are residents of our senior sanctuary. Honey watches over all the dogs, and inspects every new dog who enters the pack. She has never had a problem with another dog. Honey is happy and healthy. She is very playful and dances for her meals. She playbows with the dogs and loves to run and jump with them. She does not want close contact with humans unless you have a piece of raw meat in your hand, then she will come right up to you and gently take the meat from your hand. Honey has no grooming needs because she will not allow you to get near her. She gets her flea/tick and heartworm preventative in pills in her food. Adoption fees are $200 unless otherwise stated.

Honey would make a wonderful "pet" for someone who has a fenced yard and a nice sturdy wooden elevated dog house with an offset door that can be covered with a flap in inclement weather, and filled with straw in the winter. A heating pad or heat lamp would be a necessity if you cannot get Honey to come inside. She will let you enjoy your yard but she will be on constant alert for your whereabouts, and she will stay on the move in order to keep a distance between you and her. Honey will be a great friend for your dogs so if you have a desire to help a dog who had sorry beginnings, Honey will be happy to live with you and your pack. In fact, Honey requires a pack and would be miserable if she had no canine companions.

To adopt an animal from Little Big Dog Rescue, you will need to fill out an adoption application.

Adoption fees are $200 unless otherwise stated. Senior residents of Dot's Old Dogs Home are generally not available for adoption. 100% of adoption fees are put back into the rescue so that another lonely and neglected chained/penned dog or yard-sale dog can be rescued. Upon approval, the adoption fee is non-refundable. The fee includes the following: de-worming; grooming (if applicable); heartworm, lymes, ehrlichia and anaplasmosis testing; all vaccinations including rabies; flea and tick treatment, microchipping and spay/neuter.
