Safe Haven Puppy Rescue is an out-of-state adoption arm of Mary Ann Morris Animal Society (MAMAS), a private 501c3 nonprofit shelter/rescue formed in 2001 by a small group of local people concerned about animal welfare in Bamberg County, South Carolina and beyond. MAMAS is dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of animals. It is a no-kill facility that depends mostly on donations to care and find homes for those in our charge. After an approval process, MAMAS dogs can be sent to loving homes and rescues in SC, NC, VA, MD, PA, DE, NJ, NY, VT, NH, and ME, via MAMAS on the Move Transport (read about our transport under Volunteer). We cannot send dogs to adopters in CT, MA, or RI, but can send to approved rescues in these states. Our dogs are healthy, socialized, and all out of state dogs travel with a veterinary health certificate which states they are free of contagious disease.
