The Verde Valley Humane Society is a non-profit shelter located in Cottonwood, Arizona. We are the holding facility for five different animal control offices in the Verde Valley. Our Shelter has limited space, but most of the stray or abandoned dogs and cats from the Verde Valley are housed here and processed though our system. If you have lost or are missing a pet, please call or visit the shelter . The shelter is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Our phone number is (928) 634-7387. We are located in Cottonwood, just off of HWY 89A. Cottonwood is 14 miles from I-17 on HWY 260. Follow the signs to HWY 89A towards Jerome. Continue on 89A towards Jerome until W. Mingus Ave. (There is a sign on 89A by the Maverick gas station that says Shelter, 1/2 mile.) Turn left on Mingus Ave. We are 1/2 mile south on W. Mingus. We are the last building past the airport.
