The Humane Society of Tampa Bay, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, provides shelter for homeless & at risk animals, adoptions, hospital and TNVR services for the general public; operates independently from the Humane Society of the United States. And we, along with our animals, would love to have you as a partner on this journey. Steps to Adopting a Dog: Find the dog(s) that are right for you. Dogs listed are available to adopt. The website is updated daily. Visit our shelter and meet with the dog(s) that interest you. Once you find a dog that you are interested in bring their kennel card (paper with dog’s name located on kennel) to the front desk in our adoption lobby to schedule a visit. Meet with an adoption coordinator. You will meet with one of our staff members to sign paperwork, go over information and any questions. Take your new family member home and start your life together. All dogs must leave the shelter on a leash and collar/harness. If you need dog supplies we have a retail store located within our shelter for your convenience. Shelter Hours: Monday – Sunday, 10 am – 5pm. Last adoption @ 4:30 pm.
